Going into your closet to see what you already own is an important step many people often miss. Personally, I have been known to buy clothing pieces that are very similar in nature, or the exact same. This step will also help with saving money because you will realize that you actually do not need the items you thought you needed and/or wanted. Something that has helped me along the way has been organizing the clothing in my closet. For example, I put all of my clothes together by season.
